Parents, Teens and Asthma

Some teens feel that it has ruined their lives, or they are sensitive about using an inhaler in school. One teen says, "My doctor wants me to use three different inhalers and a peak flow meter twice a day. Carrying all this is impossible! And it's embarrassing around my friend."

It can be hard being a teen, and harder being a teen with asthma. The teenage years are ones of transition from childhood to adult. This transition often causes problems in relationships with parents and others seen in positions of authority.
