Tell Us What You Think

Making the Most of your Medical Visit

Remember on one of your last visits to the doctor…when you got home and remembered what you forgot to ask? It happens to all of us…but not as often if we go prepared.

Spend time before your visit to make a list of questions, with the most important ones at the top.

Keep a list of your medications on your computer or elsewhere so that you can update them each time you visit your doctor. And if you need refills this is a good time to jot that down. Be sure to include both prescription and non-prescription medications. You might even use bold print and double spacing to make them stand out most clearly.

When coming in for your appointment, please don’t wear scented products such as perfume or after- shave lotion in consideration of other patients and staff who may be allergic to them.

Share your concerns with your doctor. Don’t be shy about bringing something up or wait to be asked. If something is upsetting you, talk about it. Raise the subject yourself. Stress is one of the primary causes of allergies.

Double-check your instructions before leaving the office… for example, when and for how long to take your medications.

At Allergy & Asthma Center we welcome your questions. Our goal in communicating with you is to listen well to everything you have to say, and to explain clearly what’s going on. You are our reason for being here, and the above tips can help us provide the best service to you.
