Allergies:
Watch Out for Triggers
|
Eggnog, peanut butter balls,
cheeses, fruitcakes
yum! Or are they?
If you're allergic to some of these or even one of their ingredients,
you'll have to exercise some self-discipline to avoid an allergic
reaction, which can range from itching to sweating, hives, low blood
pressure and wheezing to life-threatening reactions such as shock.
The most common food allergens include
eggs, milk, wheat, peanuts, walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts, and fish,
most of which are found in almost everybody's house over the holidays.
The best way to avoid them is to ask what's in the suspicious
ones. If you're afraid they are all suspicious, take along your
own snacks that you know are good for you.
It is confusing so if you want to know
more about food allergies, e.g. what happens in your body when you
have a food-allergic reaction, or what is the best treatment for
food allergy, here are some answers for you.

those allergic to certain foods but you must check the ingredients
yourself or with your allergist for your own personal allergies.
