HEPA Air Filters

Air filters... how do you choose?

If your home is heated with a forced air system, you may want to consider a media type filter. Second choice is an electrostatic filter but these should be cleaned monthly to be effective.

If you have a radiant heating system in your home you can start with a portable HEPA air filter. HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter. The best ones remove 99.97% of airborne particles.

Your allergist can help you pick the best air filter if room filters are needed, as well as recommending other environmental controls for your needs. Make sure you can return the filter to your place of purchase if it proves to be ineffective for you.
